Sam is a third generation investment banker and has over 25 years of investment banking experience.
He was previously a senior banker at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, where he covered the Asia-Pacific region and managed over USD 3 billion. He specialized in venture capital and pre-IPO investments, as well as advisory work for IPOs, cross-border M&A, and corporate restructurings.
In 2022, Sam led a consortium of British and American investors to acquire TutorABC, one of the world’s leading online platforms for learning English and Chinese. He now serves as its Co-Chairman and CEO. Additionally, for over two decades, he has served as the Chief Representative in Taiwan for Kaplan, one of the world’s largest NYSE-listed education companies.
Additionally, Sam co-founded The Yang Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sports, education, and international exchange between the UK, USA, Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

Education and Training Career
Sam has taught and trained thousands of students and professionals across 30+ countries. He is a lead instructor for the CFA Program (Levels 1–3) and has conducted analyst training programs at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, and Julius Baer. His workshops on leadership, study skills, and personal development have been delivered at over 160 schools, universities, and companies globally.

Personal Interests
Sam is a big fan of rugby, cricket and golf.
He played for Somerset, Gloucestershire, and Bath Schools in rugby and cricket, and captained all his teams at school and university level.
