Paul Shelton

Paul is an experienced banking executive with a 30-year history of serving as Head of Legal & Compliance and MLRO for the Asia Pacific branches of major international financial institutions. His career spans 17 years in Japan, 3 years in Singapore and Australia, and 8 years in Hong Kong. Paul has extensive experience working with financial regulators across the Asia Pacific region.

Currently, Paul provides consultancy services to Taiwanese financial and non-financial industry associations, covering all aspects of Compliance, AML/Sanctions, Governance, as well as Employee Training, Speech and Press Release Writing and Editing, Coaching, Mentoring, Presentation Skills, and Project Management.

Paul holds degrees in law, commerce, and arts from the University of Queensland, Australia, and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland before embarking on his Asia Pacific banking career.

As an active member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei) for over two years, Paul is a strong advocate for membership engagement. He believes that BCCTaipei greatly benefits from hosting a wide range of events and opportunities for both existing and new members. Paul is an enthusiastic attendee at BCCTaipei gatherings, including SNS events. He has acted as a mentor in the 2021 Young Professionals Mentorship Programme and most recently joined the CSR committee. Paul is eager to contribute further to BCCTaipei and the Board.
